What do sessions with Cosmelan® professional skin brightening treatment consist of?
1. Intense depigmentation
In the Clinic with removal at home: 8 to 12 hours
Following a deep cleansing with the oil-removing solution, cosmelan 1 has a powerful depigmenting effect due to its high concentration of active ingredients. The product should be applied by the medical professional, who will establish the application time in each case. After the recommended application time, the patient should remove the product at home, completing the first phase.
Removal of the mask at home: rinse carefully with plenty of lukewarm water and Syndet bar after the recommended time duration by the doctor, avoiding direct contact with the eyes. Immediately after removing cosmelan1 apply intense moisturizing cream. Repeat moisturizing cream every 4 to 6 hours for 2 days. Apply sunscreen lotion having SPF 50+ in the morning daily.
2. Continous depigmentation
At home: Month 1
48 hours after removing the cosmelan 1 mask, it is necessary to continue with the daily depigmentation routine to supplement the corrective action of the method and to regulate the overproduction of melanin inside the melanocyte.
Instructions for use: apply cosmelan 2 once daily at night followed by an intense moisturizing cream. Apply sunscreen lotion having SPF 50+ in the morning daily. In case of sun exposure, reapply UV protection at midday.
In the case of extreme sensitivity during this phase, consider spacing out the applications of cosmelan 2, without abandoning the treatment altogether. Visit your doctor end of one month after stopping cosmelan 2 for 3 days
3. Control of hyperpigmentation
At home: Months 2 to 6
At this point, it is important to treat the root cause of the blemish by regulating the overproduction of melanin through constant regulation of the melanocyte. This controls both intra- and intercellular melanin production and prevents repigmentation.
Instructions for use: apply cosmelan 2 at night, followed by intense moisturizing cream and sunscreen in the morning. In case of sun exposure, reapply UV protection at midday.
4. Controlling reappearance
At home: Month 7 to 12
The tendency to develop dark spots represents an ongoing risk. During the control phase, the treatment prevents the reappearance of the treated spots and the formation of new ones, for a longer-lasting result.
Once the method is complete, we strongly recommend continuous use of sun protection as a permanent cosmetic treatment.
