Laser hair removal is one of the most commonly done cosmetic procedures in the world. It beams highly concentrated light into hair follicles. Pigment in the follicles is absorbed by the light , that destroys the hair follicle avoiding damage to the skin.
Laser hair removal is used to reduce unwanted hairs. Lasers are useful for removing unwanted hair from the face, leg, chin, back, arm, underarm, bikini line, and other areas. Hairs do not fall out immediately, but you will shed them over a period of days to weeks. The repeated treatments are usually necessary because hair growth and loss naturally occur in a cycle, and laser treatment works best with hair follicles in the new-growth stage. You might need maintenance laser treatments for long-term hair reduction.

1. Anagen
Anagen is the active phase of the hair. The cells in the root of the hair are dividing rapidly. A new hair is formed and pushes the club hair (a hair that has stopped growing or is no longer in the anagen phase) up the follicle and eventually out.
2. Catagen
The catagen phase is a transitional stage and about 3% of all hairs are in this phase at any time. This phase lasts for about two to three weeks. Growth stops and the outer root sheath shrinks and attaches to the root of the hair.
3. Telogen
Telogen is the resting phase and usually accounts for 6% to 8% of all hairs. During this phase, the hair follicle is completely at rest and the club hair is completely formed.
4. Exogen
This is a part of the resting phase where the old hair detaches and sheds, and new hair continues to grow. The exogen represents the period from when a resting hair reaches its terminal position in follicle to when it finally detaches. The resting hair is gradually loosened resulting in shedding of hair
