Glutathione in brightening Skin
The color of the skin depends on the presence of melanin pigment.
There are 2 types of melanin called
1. Eu melanin (Darker pigment)
2. Pheo- melanin (Lighter pigment)
More Eu-melanin in the skin makes one look darker and those with more Pheo-melanin look fairer. These pigments are synthesized from the protein we eat and it gets digested into the smallest form of amino acid. One of the amino acids called tyrosine gets converted by a cyclic pathway either to Eu-melanin or Pheo-melanin depending on hereditary factors. When we add glutathione the cyclic pathway changes and instead of making Eu-melanin our body makes Pheo-melanin. Thus the skin becomes fairer. Glutathione given gets utilized by our body and so we have to administer the maintenance dose to retain the color improvement. The results also vary from individual to individual. 85% of the customer gets good results while 10 -15% may not get a satisfactory result. Glutathione is not advised to patients prone to asthma problems.
